We use reputable international shipping companies like DHL, UPS or Australia Post to deliver our parcels to USA, UK and all other countries. Shipping to U.K. will take approximately 8-20 working days. Shipping to USA will take approximately 14-20 working days.
Each order is lovingly checked before we ship it to you – but occasionally items can be damaged during delivery. For breakages please contact us (info@sleepstory.com.au) within 48 hours of the delivery of your purchase with a photo of the damaged item and we will have it sorted for you.

If your parcel is not collected from delivery, then it will be sent back to our warehouse. Sleep Story is not responsible for any additional shipping costs for returns, and we do not assume responsibility for reimbursement or compensation of returned packages lost in transit without proof of delivery to Sleep Story. Essential oils are potent aqueous extracts from plants and exert a physiological response on the body through inhalation and skin absorption. Our sense of smell, or olfaction, is chemically activated. We have millions of smell receptors with which to receive odours and fragrance and our olfactory system is able to determine various different smells. Essential oil components interact with bodily systems, and depending on the essential oil support various systems of the body. The aroma of the oils enter through the olfactory nerve directly to our brain triggering an effect. Each oil used is chosen for its specific properties which can evoke changes in the body including calm, relaxation and balance.
Essential oils are made up of tiny molecules that are rapidly and easily absorbed into the body. Though the time may vary from person to person, the effects are usually evident within 30 minutes, sometimes less!
Whilst results may vary, effects of using our mists can generally be experienced within 30 minutes of administration, sometimes even sooner! With regular use however, our mists can help to improve our sleep hygiene and behavioural patterns in order to establish a healthy sleep pattern. Our sense of smell is chemically activated and when airborne molecules are detected, messages are sent to the brain resulting in a physiological response. Not only are the smells interpreted but a new memory response is created. What does this mean? When our mists are used regularly, our body begins to associate the particular smell with a previous effect, either sleep or alertness, and the behavioural pattern is established.
Of course! Our sleep mists are interchangeable between men and women. They have both been formulated with calming, balancing and sedative oils to help promote a restful sleep. The only difference if the scent! Blackout has a more woody fragrance, whereas Bliss has a more floral scent and also contains rosewater.
Both sprays only contain specific oils which are safe for use on little ones, however the major difference between the two is the dilution of the ingredients. The baby spray has been formulated using a higher dilution to ensure it is gentle enough for new babes, whilst still being effective.
We pride ourselves in sourcing and using only pure and natural essential oils of the highest practitioner quality, wherever possible, in order to provide the safest, and most therapeutically beneficial products to you. They do not contain fillers or artificial ingredients that would dilute their active qualities. Proper extraction and quality control methods also ensure that they are free of any contaminants such as pesticides or other chemical residues. There are a variety of different companies these days selling essential oils and even though they may claim to be 100% pure, if the right species or plant part has not been used; if the plant has not been grown in the correct environment or harvested at the right time; if it has not been distilled under the right conditions, the natural chemical makeup of the extraction will not provide the desired effect at the correct level. In some cases these issues can result in an extract that contains harmful levels of some constituents. Anything less than pure, therapeutic-grade essential oil may not produce the desired results and can, in some cases, be extremely toxic.
A high quality pure essential oil is a pure plant extract, a volatile liquid extracted from a single botanical source. A fragrant oil is made by blending synthetic chemical compounds in a laboratory to duplicate the scent of a pure plant. The result is an artificial oil which does not possess any of the therapeutic benefits of that of essential oils.
Essential oils should not be ingested unless prescribed by a healthcare practitioner as if administered incorrectly it can cause health problems. When properly diluted in a carrier oil or inhaled, pure essential oils are safe, smell great and above all help to improve health and wellbeing.
Correct! Preservatives are necessary in order to make sure that your skincare stays at its most effective. Unless a product is completely oil based, it will require some form of preservative, natural or otherwise. Inadequate preservation can be hazardous to our health so it is essential to use the correct preservatives in order to control microbial activity and hinder and eliminate the growth of pathogens and bacteria. Thankfully our products use natural preservatives with anti-fungal and anti-bacterial properties to combat microorganisms, fungi, bacteria and contamination. We aim to keep our ingredients simple and easy to understand as well as keeping our natural preservative levels to the bare minimum.
Definitely! When used as directed our mist will have no effect on your makeup. The blends which contain rosewater can even help to improve hydration and refresh the skin!
Of course! Our mists can be used as much as required. Essential oils do not build up within the body so there is no chance of toxicity, so get spritzing!
Pure essential oils have a beautiful scent however their primary purpose is to be absorbed into our system through both inhalation and skin absorption, to exact therapeutic benefits, promoting health and wellbeing. Though the addition of fragrance oils would improve the strength and duration of smell, they are chemical compounds and have no therapeutic benefits to our health. We are very conscious of the ingredients we use in our products, every one included for a specific therapeutic reason.
Though falling asleep may not be your issue, our sleep sprays can help to improve the quality and duration of your sleep so you wake up feeling refreshed and ready for the day!

Our products do not contain any chemicals that will harm you or the baby and have been formulated to be both gentle and safe. However certain oils are not recommended for use during the full term of pregnancy so if any irritation occurs or if you have any concerns, you can consult your GP prior to use.

Of course! The formulas have been blended with all natural ingredients, and do contain any artificial colours so will not stain or damage linen or clothing.
No! Our products are definitely not addictive. It does help you get into a sleeping pattern because you will start to associate the smell with the action. The scent of the sleep support, over time, will trigger your smell ‘memory’ and associate that smell with sleep. Apart from that it’s not addictive and certainly poses no danger to your health. Also worth noting, essential oils don’t build up in the body so there no chance of toxicity either. They go into the blood stream, exert their actions then are eliminated out via your sweat or urine.
